Inside Sales: Mechanical/Industrial
Job Description
Talis Group’s client is a leader in valve & pump repair services (installs & services hydraulic pumps.) They are seeking a personable & detail oriented Inside Sales Representative (Mechanical/Industrial) to join their team located in Channelview, Texas. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical or technical experience – such as a drafter, technical sales coordinator, or inside sale rep in the oil/gas, marine, or manufacturing industries who is looking to grow with a stable, respected company. This is a full time, direct-hire role with a salary range of $75k-$90k (based on experience), full benefits, and bonus potential. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm, onsite.
Highlighted Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers by phone, email, or walk-ins.
- Accurately process & enter 90% of all sales orders into NetSuite ERP.
- Review customer requirements, provide quotes, & answer technical & service-related questions.
- Support Outside Sales with pricing, availability, quotes, & order entry.
- Track open work orders & sales orders; follow up with operations & customers on order status.
- Ensure proper documentation control (purchase orders, packing lists, closed work orders, etc.)
- Prepare reports on sales activity & maintain organized job files.
- Collaborate with Operations & Management to ensure customer needs are met from order to closeout.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Strong customer service & communication skills – both written & verbal.
- Proven attention to detail, organization, & time management
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience using ERP/CRM systems.
- Mechanical aptitude & ability to understand technical drawings (2D) a plus.
- Prior inside sales or customer service experience in mechanical, industrial, marine, or oil/gas industries highly preferred.
