Talis Group’s company client is a dynamic and highly regarded Lexington, KY law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services in the realm of medical malpractice defense and insurance defense litigation. With a commitment to excellence, their team of legal professionals strives to achieve favorable outcomes for clients through diligent research, strategic planning, and effective advocacy. Our company client is seeking a talented and motivated Legal Assistant with experience in defense litigation to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting 2-3attorneys, managing case files, and ensuring the seamless operation of their legal practice. This is a full time position offering a benefits package, including free parking. Salary $50,000-$52,000
Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Draft standard pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.
- Handle Federal/State/Appellate court e-filings.
- Document management including filing, indexing, scanning, saving, and organizing.
- Publish conflict checks, process new matter requests, draft engagement letters, and update client and contact lists.
- Review/release daily time entries for assigned attorneys utilizing firm approved narrative guidelines.
- Manage client billing matters; review and edit pre-bills in collaboration with designated billing coordinator.
- Process expense reimbursements via Chrome River.
Highlighted Requirements:
- 5+ years of law firm administrative experience. Preferably with experience in insurance defense or similar.
- Experience with Office 365 with proficient use of Word (with Track Changes) and Excel.
- Technical knowledge to learn service group-specific software.
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading, as well as strong organizational skills.
- Professional references will be required.
