Job Description
Talis Group’s client is a well-established, locally owned manufacturer seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their close-knit team in Jeffersonville, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and expand HR functions as the company’s first full-time HR professional.
Reporting to the Controller, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for all team members, supporting a culture built on continuous improvement, servant leadership, and professional growth. The company offers competitive pay ($70K–$85K + up to 10% bonus) and a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, life, and 401k with match)
Highlighted Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees, providing guidance and HR support to managers and staff
- Lead efforts in employee engagement, retention, and recruiting, including job fairs and onboarding
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations with professionalism and discretion
- Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment and leaves of absence
- Process bi-weekly payroll in Paycor for approximately 75 employees
- Oversee training and development programs and maintain HR metrics and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
- Manage HR recordkeeping, scheduling, and coordination with external vendors and brokers
- Support a positive, safety-focused, and continuously improving work environment
Highlighted Requirements:
- 5+ years of broad-based, progressive HR experience in a small to mid-sized company
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or working toward completion)
- Strong background in recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations
- Current knowledge of state and federal employment laws
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel) skills
- Payroll experience required (Paycor experience a plus)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Preferred but not required: Bilingual (English/Spanish), safety program experience, or light bookkeeping skills
