Job Description
Talis Group’s client is a global leader in industrial construction, engineering, and equipment manufacturing, providing turnkey solutions for industrial construction. They are seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Specialist for a new industrial construction project in the Jeffersonville, Indiana area. This position is onsite working closely with project management to oversee financial reporting, cost analysis, and subcontractor accounting for active construction projects.
This is a full-time, direct hire position, with a salary range of $70-$90k plus full benefits. Hours are Monday-Friday, onsite, but will be able to work remote occasionally.
Highlighted Duties:
- Perform detailed job cost analysis and maintain accurate cost tracking throughout each project phase.
- Manage full-cycle AIA billing, invoicing, and project cost documentation.
- Prepare & monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support project & financial planning.
- Process and review subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Process Accounts Payable and coordinate with vendors & suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
- Generate accurate & timely financial reports & assist with monthly & quarterly closings.
- Oversee subcontractor payments across active jobsites, ensuring compliance with contract terms & lien releases.
- Track & analyze equipment usage, rentals, & cost allocations to ensure proper billing & expense accuracy.
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast project costs, identify variances, & maintain profitability.
- Utilize ProjectSight and Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum to manage accounting workflows, budgets, & job cost reports.
- Maintain and develop advanced Excel reports (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling) to analyze job costs and productivity.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience.)
- 3+ years of accounting experience in construction, engineering, or industrial environments.
- Proficiency in AIA G703 billing and construction contract invoicing required.
- Experience using ProjectSight or Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, and financial modeling.)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
