Due to a promotion, their Louisville, KY company is hiring a Sr. Project Accountant to lead financial performance of industrial contracting projects and manage a small Billing Team. This position offers growth opportunities and a culture of low-turnover and an experienced accounting team. The company pays 100% of health, dental, vision and life premiums, as well as offering 401K match, tuition reimbursement and gym membership. Salary range: $95-$110k and bonus opportunity for the right candidate with construction accounting experience.
Highlighted Duties:
As a Senior Project Accountant, you’ll take ownership of the financial performance of multiple industrial contracting projects—from setup through closeout. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure accuracy, accountability, and efficiency. This position reports to the Assistant Regional Controller.
- Managing financials for various types of contracts
- Preparing month end journal entries
- Preparing AIA billings and monthly pay applications
- Setting up projects and budgets in accounting software
- Leading monthly cost-to-complete reviews with PMs
- Reviewing job cost activity, reconciling WIP, and ensuring revenue recognition
- Processing change orders and journal entries
- Supporting audits and supervising billing clerks
- Managing subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and vendor payments
Highlighted Requirements
- 4+ years of accounting experience (2+ years in construction)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Construction related software
- Experience with AIA billing
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of GAAP and construction accounting principles
