Job Description
We are a well-established and client-focused plaintiff's personal injury law firm based in Louisville, KY. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, aggressive, and high-quality representation for individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a plaintiff’s personal injury firm. You will play a key role in managing litigation files from inception through trial, providing critical support to attorneys, clients, and expert witnesses throughout the legal process.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery documents
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
- Organize, review, and summarize medical records, bills, deposition transcripts, and expert reports
- Maintain case files and calendars, ensuring deadlines are met
- The position may require assisting attorneys with an occasional trial, but it is uncommon.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations and court appearances
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed
- Communicate with clients, experts, medical providers, and court personnel in a professional and timely manner
Highlighted Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a personal injury paralegal (plaintiff side)
- Strong knowledge of Kentucky court rules and procedures
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite; must be able to track changes, use grids and tables, as well as use Excel spreadsheets, and Adobe for redactions, case management software (e.g., Needles, Clio, TrialWorks), and electronic filing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
