Food Safety Manager
Job Description
Talis Group’s client is a privately held leader in food manufacturing with a large plant located in Southern Indiana. This is an SQF Level 3 food manufacturing facility committed to delivering the highest standards of food safety and quality. This company focused on excellence and innovation is hiring a Food Safety Manager to oversee and ensure the integrity of all food safety processes, practices, and policies across 3 shifts. Company is seeking an excellent communicator that can collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify, resolve, and prevent food safety risks while driving compliance with industry standards. Company offers generous salary $95-$110k with bonuses and amazing benefit package - Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, EAP, 401K, Onsite Health Clinic, etc (many of these fully paid by employer). Highlighted Duties:
- Identify and resolve food safety risks across ingredient storage, processing, production, warehousing, and transportation.
- Develop and maintain food safety policies, practices, and documentation
- Lead internal and external food safety audits
- Manage essential documentation
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and product deviations related to food safety.
- Oversee the company’s HACCP program
- Provide comprehensive food safety training across all departments and shifts.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Quality, Production, and Sanitation teams, to uphold food safety standards.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in a food safety leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- ASQ Certified Auditor with knowledge of statistics and SPC.
- At least 4 years of experience in food plant sanitation and/or GMP compliance.
- HACCP certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Better Process Control School certification (or ability to obtain within 24 months).
- Thermal processing experience (preferred, not required).
- Ability to walk and stand on the plant floor 50% of the day
