Associate Attorney
Job Description
Talis Group’s client is a well-known Louisville law firm with large corporate clients. This firm has been recognized by Newsweek and had its Managing Partner listed in the Top Ten Leading Attorneys for their class. Firm is adding a Litigation Attorney to their team. Firm’s primary practice areas include: Insurance Defense, Products Liability, Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Litigation, Construction Litigation, Toxic Torts, Breach of Contract, etc. Company offers very competitive salary and benefits for this position
Highlighted Duties:
- Advise clients concerning claims or defense of claims, legal rights and obligations
- Interpret laws, ruling and regulations for clients
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for case presentation
- Study Constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents including briefs and opinions
- Negotiate settlements and mediations
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports
Highlighted Requirements:
- J.D from an accredited law school
- Prior litigation experience in state and federal courts
- Must be licensed to practice in Kentucky
- 2+ years of experience in litigation defense
- Must have excellent writing and verbal communications skills
