Accounting Clerk - QuickBooks Expert
Job Description
Talis Group’s client is hiring for a well-established construction company in Louisville, specializing in residential & commercial projects. They are seeking an Accounting Clerk with strong QuickBooks skills to help keep their busy office running smoothly. This role will report to the Owner and be responsible for AP, AR, financial reporting, audits, and data entry tasks. This is a full-time, direct hire role with an hourly pay of $28/hour plus full benefits.
Hours are Mon-Thursday, 8am-4pm, (paid for a 40 hour work week totally $58k annually.)
Highlighted Duties:
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, including daily bookkeeping and operational accounting functions.
- Process Accounts Payables, verifying invoices and coding expenses.
- Manage Accounts Receivables by generating invoices, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on overdue payments.
- Record and reconcile daily transactions, including journal entries and General Ledger activities.
- Monitor & track expenses, cash flow, and assist with budget oversight.
- Conduct accurate data entry in QuickBooks and ensure proper account coding of all transactions.
- Support audit processes related to liability insurance and worker’s compensation.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including invoice tracking & payment coordination.
- Answer & route incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
- Maintain & organize the office’s physical filing system for financial & administrative documents.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and reports.
- Experience conducting or supporting audits, especially related to liability insurance and/or worker’s compensation is required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong, accurate data entry skills.
