Environmental Engineer OR Environmental Manager
Talis Groups’ client is a well-established, leading industrial facility, dedicated to responsible, sustainable, and compliant production. Their mission is to ensure safety, environmental integrity, and continuous improvement across their facilities. They are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer OR Environmental Manager to provide oversight of environmental compliance programs for 2 manufacturing sites in KY. This position is based in Louisville, KY with occasional travel. The ideal candidate will bring strong regulatory knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the organizational skills needed to manage environmental systems, ensure compliance, and coordinate with operational and safety teams.
Salary ranges from $85K to $120K (pay based on relevant history and skills) Position is bonus eligible.
HIGHLIGHTED DUTIES:
- Lead environmental compliance initiatives for both manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage Title V permitting and reporting, including emissions inventory calculations and regulatory submissions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental procedures, policies, and training programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders on all environmental matters.
- Conduct and coordinate regular environmental inspections, risk assessments, and hazard analyses at both sites.
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage waste handling, accumulation, and disposal processes.
- Conduct monthly safety audits and support plant safety initiatives.
- Maintain environmental reporting, metrics, and documentation in alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
HIGHLIGHTED REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing environment or regulatory agency.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulatory standards, with in-depth knowledge of the Clean Air Act, RCRA, and Title V permitting processes.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and people skills.
- Proficient in Excel and capable of performing algebraic and statistical calculations.
